Warning:

If you know me you know I am a wordy person, I always have a story to tell and I want moments fully documented. I want my kids to look back and have all the details, you can think of this site as our family journal, or more importantly the momma diary.

Mom and Dad's get away to Spokane, September-October 2010

I KNOW! I have been a royal slacker, I always read ALL of my friends and families blogs, I just don't always comment and I honestly don't know what happened to me, but I fell off the blogging wagon. I enjoy blogging, I just got so far behind because I want to blog everything and then it just becomes easier to not blog. Anyways, I am going to try and be back a sweet friend and a cousin have commented or messaged me to ask why I am not blogging any more, and I honestly don't have a good answer, I've become a slacker! I can't even say that I am that busy or have taken up new hobbies, so I promise to try and do better.

Here we go:

So as previously posted back in 2010 my mom came to Cali and watched the girls for us to go to a PA conference in Spokane we were gone for about 5 days, it was a really nice get away. We left mid day on Wednesday and our plane was delayed leaving, so they pushed back our connecting flight as well. The plus to this was a 3 hour lay over in UT!!! So we met my dad, my two sisters (and a very prego belly) and my brother in law as well as my father in law, mother in law and Brent's grandmother at Cafe Rio and had dinner all together. It was so great to see our families even if it was only for an hour, and last minute, my dad and Karey ditched church commitments and Kayleigh and Tay hurried over from work. So that made a great start to our trip!

We arrived in Spokane about 10 pm that night and it was raining of course, got our rental car and headed to the Hotel Davenport, beautiful! It was in the art district, just a short walk from the Mall, park and river.

Thursday morning, I slept in... And I mean I slept IN, 10 o'clock to be exact. Got up had a muffin and some juice at the Starbucks in the lobby (this became my breakfast of choice every morning we were there as Brent was served Breakfast and lunch at his conference), worked out took a nice long shower, got ready went to the mall to walk around, and came back and read, read, read. Brent even went to a dinner that first night so I watched Grey's Anatomy and read some more, bliss. Only when Brent got back, I still hadn't eaten and every where was closed so we hoofed it to the mall food court and I had del taco.

Friday morning, brought more sleeping in (only 9 oclock today) and Brent's conference, same breakfast with a work out, some more reading and a walk around the art district, lunch at the Safari room, with more reading. Now to some this may sound like a boring vacation, to a mom this was quite lovely. When Brent got back to the hotel we went and walked around the beautiful riverfront and went to dinner at the Safari room, yes that's twice in one day for me, and lunch was much better.

Saturday morning brought the same, but I met Brent just before lunch and we walked around the Ballrooms at the Davenport and ate lunch at the Olive Garden, really had our heart set on Spaghetti Factory but it was closed. After a little more walking we headed to Coure d' lane ID and Scarywoods. My hubby loves amusement parks and halloween, so put the two together and there we go. I will be honest we had a great time and the haunted house there was actually one of the scary ones I've been in, but I'd rather have gone to a play or something. Oh well maybe on a future trip.

Sunday I of course got up early due to all of my sleeping in and Brent slept in, so I curled up in the chair and read. We went back to the river and rode the tram and headed to the botanical gardens, ate lunch on the way to the airport and that was all. We were then headed home to our beautiful girls and my mom.

Nice relaxing get away a chance to reconnect as life gets so busy, already looking forward to this years conference, we've talked Hawaii, but we'll see that one may wait till next year.
