Warning:

If you know me you know I am a wordy person, I always have a story to tell and I want moments fully documented. I want my kids to look back and have all the details, you can think of this site as our family journal, or more importantly the momma diary.

Castle's and Coaster's

Katrena's school had a PTSA fund raiser to go to Castle's and Coaster's on Saturday January 26, we invited Uncle Gary (Brent's Brother), Aunt Jody, Allie, Cameron and Caleb to go with us. We had a fun day of rides and miniature golf and then we all went out for dinner afterwards. I was so proud of Katrena, she went on every ride except for the big rollercoaster and the adult free fall (she went on the kid's one and dad went on the big one). Mom had to skip all the rides except the merry-go-round, but she didn't mind, definitely for a good cause. We all had a blast and we were exhausted when we got home, Katrena and Mom crashed and crashed hard, but poor Dad had to stay up to put in some study hours.

You know mom and the camera, I had to take lots of photos. Here are a few:

1) Here is Brent and Katrena on the Bumper Boats, this was their first ride of the day and it took some coaxing to get her ready to ride, but after that she was off, the kid was willing to ride anything.

2) Katrena and Caleb on one of the kiddie rides. The guy kept spinning them around and around the kids felt like they were going to be sick.

3) Katrena on the Merry-Go-Round.

4)Katrena and Allie on the Lil' Indy, we got to check out the next driver in the families driving skills.

As much as we miss all of our family back home and back east, it has been so fun to get to spend so much time with our family here.

Katrena's 7th Birthday!!!

Katrena's Birthday was on 1/19 and she turned 7. We had a great day, you would have thought it was Christmas at our house. Katrena was up at 8 (on a saturday, she always sleeps in), and instead of waiting to open her presents we let her go ahead first thing in the morning. We figured that she should have everything opened before the family called so that she could thank them on the phone. She got so many fun presents, she got games, littlest pet shops, bratz dolls, Hannah Montana stuff, furniture for Polly Pockets, Dance mat, light bright and money. She had a pretty great birthday! When she wore the outfit in the top photo (the shirt was from Uncle Wade, Aunt Traci, Tyler and Megan) a girl at school told her she was wearing the coolest outfit ever, and she totally agreed. After opening presents and enjoying a LAZY morning, then Katrena and Mom made a chocolate zuchini cake for her birthday, yummy! At 4:00 we all met Uncle Gary, Aunt Jody, Allie, Cameron and Caleb for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes (Katrena's favorite). After eating we all went back to Gary and Jody's where we played a game, watched a movie, sang Happy Birthday, and ate cake. She even reaceived birthday phone calls from 9am until 10:30pm. It was truly a wonderful day and the only thing that could have made it better would have been to have all of our wonderful friends and family there to share it with us.

Love to all,
Kim

Our Happy News!

We wanted to take a moment and share some happy news with all our friends and family. We are expecting a baby in August and we are very excited. Although we are nervous, as is to be expected, we are also filled with great joy at the thought of having another little one in our home. I had an appointment on December 26th where an ultrasound was done and a heart beat was seen (sorry that's why I wasn't there to help load the truck). Since we have been in AZ I have been to see a new doctor, I really like him, and he sees the seriousness of our situation and listens to my fears and concerns. We had another ultrasound done on January 10th which is the picture to the left. Everything looked okay, and there was a strong heartbeat. The only thing of concern was I have a subchorionic hematoma, which is a bleed between the uterus and placenta, they believe it should heal on its own, but in the meantime I am on light duty. I am taking some additional vitamins and progesterine to help the baby as well as I get to inject myself with heparin twice a day in the stomach, YIPEE! I am bruised and have a beautiful rainbow of blue dots around my stomach, my doctor says its the band of courage, I certainly hope so. We will keep everyone updated on the progress of the newest member of our family. We love you all.

Life in Arizona

Its official we are all under one roof again, who can believe it. As most of you know Brent has been living in Arizona since May of 2007 where he has been attending college, while continued to live in Utah near the rest of our families. I am hoping that Brent can handle having us here after 7 months of studying in a quieter home. (Did I mention he has gotten two 4.0's in a row.) After 7 months of living apart our Anniversary present to ourselves was to finally be together as a Family again.

My mom and Dad as well as the girls helped us to move down to AZ and spent about 5 days here with us. It was nice to be able to share our new home and community with them.

We love it here, it is a beautiful 66° outside today (don't be to jealous we will be longing to be where you are come July). We have bunnies and birds that run around on the grass outside. And although we have gone on some mini hike/walks we have seen no snakes thank goodness or as you all know, I would never go again.

Katrena loves her new school and her new teacher. They even have elective courses here. She goes to PE every other day and on the opposite day she rotates to a music or art class. She has already made some new little friends.

Well I figured now that we are so far away from all of our wonderful friends and family that this would be a great way to keep everyone updated on the comings and goings in our little family. We hope everyone is well, we miss you all.
