Warning:

If you know me you know I am a wordy person, I always have a story to tell and I want moments fully documented. I want my kids to look back and have all the details, you can think of this site as our family journal, or more importantly the momma diary.

Family BBQ

Time with Family is something we truly treasure. Having moved away from our families to attend school it has been a great blessing to have Brent's brother Gary and his wife Jody and their kids near by. We don't get to see them as much as we would like, but we definitely treasure the times that we do. Last night their family came to our place and we had kabobs on the grill out by the pool and then spent some leisure time just visiting with one another while the kids swam for 3 1/2 hours. Trena and Caleb get along great, which I love, and she is always so excited to see him. Lately she has really been missing my littlest sister Karey and so she really enjoyed having Allie her cousin around, Allie is the same age as Karey and they were good little friends when they were younger. Anyways she played a long time with Allie in the pool and couldn't stop talking about how much fun she had as she fell asleep last night. Katrena was still so tired this morning when I woke her up for school and stayed a little grumpy all afternoon, so bedtime moved up a half an hour tonight. I forgot to take pictures although I had every intention too, but just wanted to share our fun Sunday evening with everyone.

As always love to all!!!

So Thank You Allie from the bottom of my heart, for helping her to miss Karey a little less. We are so glad that you guys could come and spend the evening with us and we hope to get together again soon. I totally vote for more steak kabobs, yummy!!

Doctor's visit 4/21/08

I went in for an ultrasound today, all is well the baby (still a girl) is measuring 23 weeks 2 days, right on. She
weighs about 1 lb 7 oz. They will see me again in 3 weeks to start bio-physical profiling 2 times a week.

Check out our beautiful little girl, thats her hand on her head, not a halo or feathers, although she is our angel...

Right before the ultrasound was over she turned and looked at us and smiled this cheesy smile, scrunching up her eyes. Brent says she looks deformed in this photo, but if you saw it on the ultrasound you would have laughed out loud too. It makes her cheeks look chubby, which I am sure they are not. Anyways, I just wanted to post this cute picture.

Love you all!!!

Makeovers

Katrena is always wanting me to do makeovers with her and it seems the time is never right, its almost bedtime, we need to get to church, etc. Anyways she asked last night and I promised her we would today after church. So here we are...

Notice Katrena's nice subtle makeup and my gorgeous, umm, makeover courtesy of my daughter. She kept saying to me, "I just love sky blue, don't you?" While its true I like sky blue, I love moments like this with my daughter more, blue eyeshadow, purple lipstick and all...

PE Skills Challenge, part 2

After showing off their arm muscles, they had to dribble the basketball ten times with each hand, then they threw a ball against the wall to show opposition.

Once back inside they did backwards summer saults.

And then ran and jump/climbed over the wall.

Last she had to leap over more hurdles and then it was back outside to start over again with the roller racers. After they finished showing off the physical skills they showed off their mental skills by naming different muscles and bones in the body. Katrena did really well. It was so fun to be there and to be able to share this day with her. I love being able to participate in the things that she does. I love her and being a mom so much.

PE skills challenge day part 1

Today was PE skills challenge day at Katrena's school and parents were encouraged to come and watch and even participate if they felt inclined. It was so fun to watch these kids, they were so excited to show off for their moms and dads and had learned many skills. They demonstrated their skills through an obstacle course that they did over and over for 40 minutes, they were exhausted by the end and it was quite hot. Half way through they discontinued the outside portion and just continued with the inside ones. They had each of the kids start at a different point and parents went along with them.

Katrena started on the roller racers, she loves these and wants one of her own.

Next were the pull ups (no, there feet do not reach the ground). I love this look of intense concentration. After this they hopped back and forth over a line on the floor with both feet, walked on a balance beam, jumped hurdles, weaved in and out of cones, climbed through a tunnel, weaved around more cones, did two summer saults and a baby crawl.

Then they moved back outsid where she hula hooped, and then jump roped.

After jump roping, they did a couple of activities to show off their arm strength, again I love the look of intense straining on her face. She definitely gave it her all.

Another funny animal story...

First off this is just a picture of one of the cute bunnies that run around the apartments. And Kayleigh you were not hallucinating, we are sorry for doubting you, it appears that cotton tail bunnies do climb trees and very well could have been on the carport roof. Also Katrena calls these adorable bunnies, cocktail bunnies, I don't know why, but Brent and I had a good chuckle about it. We asked her if they went with cocktail shrimp...

And next, yes this would be another bird in my apartment, this one to terrified to find its way out. So on Wed night I was cooking dinner, once again with my door open, I know, I know, I'm done, I promise, Katrena was playing in her room with Mikayla, Brent was resting on the bed and my friend Stephanie was in the living room with me, when all of a sudden a bird comes flying in the door, over my clean dishes and lands right by my sink, behind the drying rack. Stephanie and I were so shocked we didn't know what to do. I slowly walked over thinking the bird must be dead because it hit the wall, as I moved my scrubby holder to get a better look the bird flies up and over my dinner and lands beside my toaster and cabinet, startling me half to death, the girls come running out to see what is going on and the bird flies back over my dinner into the kitchen sink. As we all peer into the kitchen sink the bird takes off flying once again straight to my window, and lands on my thankfully closed blinds. The bedroom doors have all been closed to avoid flying into a ceiling fan, and the fan in the living room has been turned off, the food has been covered and we have come to the conclusion that this must be some poor baby bird just learning to fly and is terrified half to death. The girls are screaming, my friend is covering her face with a pillow and I am laughing and just thinking how the heck am I ever going to get this bird out of my house. As I start walking to the window the bird flies into the hall running into the door bell and then makes its way to the end of the hall where the bird decides to hide terrified behind Brent's guitar amp and stand. I can't move the stand and have absolutely no Idea what to do, so I awaken Brent who looks at me like I am crazy. Brent grabs his hat, after I take a picture of course, and tries to coax the bird out, finally off it flies, right under the fridge. By this time I don't know whether to laugh or scream, but the fridge is directly lined up with front door, so one more nudge of the hat and off our little sparrow went right out the front door...

Don't you all wish you lived in our animal park?

Dr appointment today

Everything still looks good, he recently went to a lecture regarding my probable condition (don't ask me to spell it or even say it). And was able to explain a little more to me about some of the side effects of heparin, that we weren't sure why I was having. The baby looked good, heart rate in 150's and was moving all around. He is going to start seeing me every two weeks now, so my next appointment is on 4/17 and then I see the perinatalogist on 4/21. On a very happy note I am 20 weeks and 5 days and I have only gained 5 pounds! Yeah for me. Brent says it looks like I have gained a lot more than that, I gave him the look of death to which he replied, well don't you? The answer to that would be yes and no. If you look at my stomach you would say yes, but other than that I don't feel heavier and I don't look like I've gained wait in my arms, legs or face. Who knows maybe that's wishful thinking on my part. Well, I feel great, my only complaint is that I can't seem to get enough sleep, but I'll take it. I am just so happy our newest little girl is growing strong.

Love to all!
