Warning:

If you know me you know I am a wordy person, I always have a story to tell and I want moments fully documented. I want my kids to look back and have all the details, you can think of this site as our family journal, or more importantly the momma diary.

Afgan for my friends baby blessing...

This is my go to afgan pattern for baby girls. I will do it in fun colors or I will do it in white for baby blessings, it is actually the pattern I used for Trena's baby blessing. I used a different pattern for Ava's so that they would be different and I kind of regret it now because I love this pattern so much. Anyways when I do it for blessings I usually put white or a soft pink ribbon down the sides, but decided to use teal instead because this sweet babies room is done in teal and red and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out. Having probably made twenty of these over time, I really think this one is my favorite.

My mother in law asked me how long it takes me to make one of these blankets and I really don't have any idea. I timed it once and depending on the row (because of the pattern) it can take between 5-15 minutes per row and there are 102 rows, plus 5 rows of border and they each take about an hour or so. You can easily put 10 hours into one, but they turn out so beautiful that it is worth every minute.

Thanksgiving craft projects

This year for Thanksgiving Trena was in Utah and it was just Brent, Ava and I so we had a very low key Thanksgiving but we still had our yummy feast and a happy day together.

I also still with my lack of energy managed to make a few crafts, sadly my wreath is only half way finished but I am excited to finish it next year because I love it but in the meantime I did complete these crafts.

I made burlap placemats out of the girls handprints:

Trena's

Ava's
And no worries there is fabric left over and two pieces of burlap cut to make baby boys next year.

Thankful bunting. It looks a little plain the rock, but maybe I'll have a colored wall to put it on soon.

And last my huge Gobble Gobble Pillow that I LOVE.

Moms weekend visit and Mothers Day (5/8/2011-5/11/11)

Mothers Day this year was a little different for us, I was a little bit down and my mom flew in the day before to be with me.

Here is Ava reading my mom her Mothers Day card

If the next two photos are any indication of the kinds of drivers my daughters are going to be, I am officially nervous.
Ava, I think she is going to be a crazy driver too busy telling others some great fabulous story to focus on the road.

Trena may be filled with road rage
