Warning:

If you know me you know I am a wordy person, I always have a story to tell and I want moments fully documented. I want my kids to look back and have all the details, you can think of this site as our family journal, or more importantly the momma diary.

I've been tagged...

I have been tagged multiple times lately and have been total slacker in doing it, so there will be a lot of these in the next few days. I am starting with the oldest.

I have been tagged!! Find your nearest book, page 123, 5Th Paragraph, 1st Sentence.....

My closest book is The Host, by Stephenie Meyer.

Pg 123: "My head snapped back and then forward. She slapped me again." (okay that was the whole paragraph, so I figured I should just post the whole thing.)

I don't really know many people who blog, but wish I did so I tag whoever reads my blog and wants to participate...

Catching up- Mother's Day and more...

First off I apologize a hundred times over for being a total blog slacker lately. I always blog at night and I have just been tired lately. I just wanted everyone to know that I have the sweetest daughter ever. On Mother's Day morning Brent and I were still in bed asleep when I heard a knock on my door, I said come in Katrena and in she walks saying: "mom I made you breakfast in bed." All on her own she had gotten up and fixed me a bowl of my favorite cereal (in her bowl), and a glass of orange juice. When she was ready to bring it to me, she realized that she did not have a tray, so with her quick thinking she decided to turn her step stool upside down. It was the sweetes thing ever and made me bawl.

We always take a Mother's Day photo together, so here is my 8th year as a Mother photo. I can't tell if my eyes are closed or if it was the sun behind Brent. I have to keep reminding myself I am 6 months pregnant in this photo.

My beautiful little girl.

Goodies Katrena made at school, cards from loved ones, a cool sound machine from my parents, and Stephenie Meyer's new book The Host. (This book is awesome, everyone should read it, even if you don't like sci-fi, which I don't.)

It was a wonderful Mother's Day. Baby is doing great, I am going to the Doctor's 3 times a week now. I have bio physical profiles every Monday and Thursday and then see my OB one other day. So far she has gotten an 8/8 on all her BPP, at my last growth ultrasound it was estimated that she weighs 2 lb 5 oz and is in the 40th percentile. They have also upped my heparin dose to 10,000 units twice a day. Other than that baby is great.

We are all doing well, we are excited because Grandpa Art is coming to town tonight, and it is all Trena has talked about all day. We started out the beginning of the week with 108° weather and ended the week with 68° weather and thunderstorms, we are loving that.

We miss all our friends and family and hope that everyone is well. Hope to see you all before to long.

Love, Kim

Katrena's broken heart...

Katrena got off the bus yesterday and the first thing she said was "I hate my life." I asked her why and her little eyes filled up with tears and she said that her friend Logan had lied to her. Logan had told her that she her cousin had stolen Katrena's sunglasses from her and had been the one to break them, but in truth Logan confessed it was her and that she did it because she hates her. She then went on in detail to tell Katrena how she broke the ear pieces off, crushed the lenses and melt the plastic. and then scribbled all in the book Katrena was reading. They were both completely ruined. This little girl is in fourth grade and is Katrena's "bus friend" but it is still her responsibility to be an example to a first grader. It makes me so sad that kids are becoming so violent these days. And the look on my sweet little girls face broke my heart. It makes me sad to realize that this is probably the first of many times she will encounter cruelty from her peers.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You to all the wonderful mother's in my life.

I have been truly blessed to have one of the most amazing women in the world as my mother. She has taught me so much about compassion towards others, patience (I am still working on it), and how to love unconditionally, as well as so many other things. I have been truly blessed. My goal is to be half the mother she is, if I accomplish that I will be doing an amazing job.

I have also been blessed to have been able to know and love my grandmothers as well as two great grandmothers. There are so many people that never get to sit down and talk to one grandmother, let alone 5 of them. These women have also taught me so many things in life: they have taught me how to work hard, how to never give up on something you truly want in life and courage. Courage to take care of a dying husband when you have so many years a head of you, courage to go on and to be strong even after losing the man that you love, and courage to face illness and health struggles that you are faced with every day.

I have been blessed to have Aunts in my life that are just like other Grandmas to me and some that are the big sister that I never had, always giving to others and teaching your children as well as me through your wonderful examples.

I have been blessed to have an amazing mother-in-law who gives and gives to all who are around her. She is always helping a neighbor or friend in need.

I have been blessed to have a wonderful Grandmother-in-law, she is the only Grandma Brent ever knew and she is one of the funniest women I know. I truly believe she gave Brent his crazy sense of humor. She too has taught me about courage, she is one of the most independant women I know. She still lives alone at 86.

I am also thankful for loving sister-in-laws and wonderful friends who show me through their examples how to be a better mother.

I love you all and hope that you have a truly wonderful mothers day.

Out with the old, in with the new...

This post is really late coming because I kept forgetting to take the picture, so here it is. Katrena decided that with her birthday money this year she wanted to get a new bike because her 16" bike was getting really small. The seat was up all the way and when she peddaled her knees came up to her head.

So we are out with the old 16" Barbie bike, and

in with the new 20" Daisy Diva bike.

She wanted a new bike that could grow with her, not a charachter bike that she wouldn't think was cool in a few years. So this one has blue daisies on the seat and daisies on the frame. She wanted a bike with a basket to carry her stuff in she said. Its really a cute bike and definitely big enough she can use it for awhile.

If it can happen to one in a million, why does it always seem to be us, knock on wood...

So last night I was sitting in the kitchen while dinner was cooking, Katrena was watching Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Brent was at the school studying when I hear a loud crash. It sounded like something shattering and was definitely coming from one of the bedrooms, but for the life of me I couldn't think of what it was. Obviously if we had an animal I would assume it had knocked something over, but Trena was right in front of me and we were alone, so I got up to investigate, as I walked by Trena's room I glanced in the door and didn't see anything out of the norm. And then I got to our room ...

This would be Brent's side of the closet, the wood rod split in two pulling the brackets right out of the wall.

This would be my side of the closet, everything is on the floor as well sliding towards the split wood on Brent's side.

So Brent emails the appropriate people to have it fixed last night and today when they came the worker told me he has worked here 10 years and has never seen this happen before. Of course he hasn't these crazy things always happen to us, I am sure no one has ever had a bird fly in their apartment here either...
