Warning:

If you know me you know I am a wordy person, I always have a story to tell and I want moments fully documented. I want my kids to look back and have all the details, you can think of this site as our family journal, or more importantly the momma diary.

Christmas Morning, Mom and Dad Watts' House: 12/25/08

Christmas morning was supposed to be spent at my in-laws with us going over to my parents at 11ish and then back to my in-laws for dinner (it helps that they only live a few streets a part). My Brother-in-law and his family didn't get in until about 3 Christmas morning due to the storm, so we knew they would want to sleep in so we changed things a little and headed to my parents at 9 for Christmas.

It was so great to have Christmas with my Grammy Ann. She lives in North Carolina and since I moved to Utah when I was 6 this is only the 2nd Christmas I've spent with her. We went out there one year and she came here another.

Knowing we were limited on time, and everyone had already had breakfast we just jumped in to the present opening. After all there were 10 of us and we take turns opening presents one by one oldest to youngest, over and over until we are done, it can take awhile. I love that my family does it this way though. I love that you can see the look on everyone's face as they open there presents and I feel it gives you the opportunity to truly appreciate the present and to say thank you to the person.

We really missed having Katrena with us. This was the first Christmas ever, that I have not had her at least part of the day. When I called her in the afternoon to see how her Christmas was, she excitedly told me about her favorite present "Extreme Home Makeover House" and then asked if she could call me tomorrow. I informed that she could call me tomorrow, but that I was mom and it was Christmas and she had to talk to me.

My mom gave my Dad this statue of a dog that she had painted to look just like my Dad's old hunting dog Dan, that died a few years back. It even had his big spot on his back and red collar.

I have to admit I was going to ask what is going on with Tyler's hair. :)

Tyler's hair is awesome! So sad that Katrena wasn't able to be there :( I love how close your family is. That is so great that your Grammy Ann was able to spend time with you guys. Love it!
